Grace Jones that great, tall, dark, deep-voiced and masculine icon of the eighties that used to advertise Citroens and slap TV presenters around as soon as their backs were turned...

She drunk, she took drugs (oh my did she take drugs!), she modelled, did some cameos (couldn't call them anything else) here and there, including a James Bond film where james must have felt a bit homosexual, really, 'cos she looked a lot like a sprint runner... yes, yes, she sung a bit too... and that is why I say that she deserves a comeback.
And when I say a comeback I mean a good one, not like Cher in 1998, and definitely not like Marta Sanchez's poo-on-a-stick comeback attempt in 2007. I mean a 'Spinning Around' comeback, and not on hot pants, on a G-string if necessary!
Being gay and all that some of you will say that I was bound to adore Miss Grace for she is not a man, but she is certainly no ordinary woman (again, I'm afraid drugs might have a lot to do...) and although she produced tonnes of shite, she also had fantastic songs like 'Slave to the rhythm'
She had a few hits here and there, having even achieved one or two number ones in some islands in the Caribbean... Nevertheless I love her style, daring and avantgarde, not afraid of experimenting with her image, her body and her music. Yep, some of it went wrong, some very wrong, but some went also fabulous and since we can choose, I choose the fabulous bits and cry: Grace Jones, your time has come again!!!
