Des yeux qui font baisser les miens,Un rire qui se perd sur sa bouche,Voilà le portrait sans retoucheDe l'homme auquel j'appartiens...
Quand il me prend dans ses bras,Qu'il me parle tout bas,Je vois la vie en rose;

Just now I started wondering: when was the last time I sang? yes, you sing in the shower, well I don´t. No time for that. But I sing in my car. Volume up and a great song having to be stopped only when I make my final and sad arrival. Waiting for me to come back and start the trip again. Play them over and over again, stretching the limits of my voice over and over again.
But when was exactly the last time I stood up on a stage, took a micro and saw only the lights and heard nothing but the sound inside me? was it my last private singing lesson, too expensive to maintain (30 pounds an hour, mind you) up in the far northern borough of Harlesden and then in nicest Dollis Hill, with Mrs Mackenzie, a black teacher with deformed big fingers, deformed from playing the piano. I ended up going early in the morning, so that I could be in Kentish Town in time to start work at 11am.
Oh those brilliant 20´s...
Or was it those Christmas holidays singing with my band in that pool bar in my hometown. Was it at the party at my place with Joe singing Springsteen´s The River. Was it The Cranberries´ Promises sang loud and hard in my lonely hours. Or was it perhaps that last year in London and my attempt to form a band with my inconditional Gareth, playing in that tiny bedsit (or its garden) maybe trying to shut down the crazy neighbours´ rows rather than making music?
No, I believe the last time I truly enjoyed singing I was in Paris. A hidden bar my friend Mikolavic will remember, with three or four levels, all down, similar to a cave and small like hell. How drank I was, I cannot remember, but I remember taking the micro from the DJ and starting to sing La Vie en Rose....oh no, I didn´t know the lyrics but my friend, wasn´t it SPECTACULAR!!!
Quand il me prend dans ses bras,Qu'il me parle tout bas,Je vois la vie en rose;
Lalalalala lalalaaaaaa larara laalaaraaa la laaa la vie en rooooose
Wasn´t everybody just delighted????
To Candy Mackenzie, for all that you taught me.
And Paris, for all I have always enjoyed you.....
