Yes, it has been quite some time since I last wrote (I seem to start all my articles like this... ), and this time there is a very good reason for my absence: I've moved countries and have now happily settled in sunny Valencia.

And it hasn't been easy. To start with, the process has been a very protracted one, as Trevor and I inicially decided to make the move back in May of this year, but then again, this things you really need to plan if they're to have a happy ending.

I an now sitting outside, in the balcony, wearing shorts and siping cool orchata whilst I type this. I am surrounded by plants too as T and I have dedicaded the last few days to visit all the nurseries in the region. It is truly idilic, to be hones...

I am now going to check the train times to Madrid as I may go and visit Beatruska and finally see her flat, and hopefuly, go out and have a few drinks around Madrid.

I will also see Angeles and my godson Samy, who are spending a few days in Madrid too.

Which brings me to the fact that I though that I would feel lonely here waiting for Trevor to sell up and move down here with me, but I find that I am not so alone here after all... and I feel very happy for that.

And that is that for tonight, more tomorrow, when I will probably talk about how I feel being unemployed, fat, old but happy...

Good night.

Bettie Serveert in Cactus Club - Brugge

Already in my early twenties I had a bunch of great friends who understood music in many varied ways. I had the honour of being introduced, amongst many others, to this band from Holland, who were just starting, and are still surprising the world with their own genuine rock.

Carol´s sweet voice, great lyrics and a sour feel to it, together with great musicians and a particular way of mixing ballad and rock have filled my ears with extasis and have made me remember why my life lacks most of the passion if I´m not in touch with this world.

Therefore, I had no choice but to book myself a ticket to Brugge for the 9th of December, so that I can see this band live, and convince my good friend Mikolavic to come with me (which to be honest, hasn´t been very difficult, it has to be said - thanks babe!)

This way, I fulfill two of my life long ambitions. See this band and travelling. Why do yourself one if you can do two?

Oh and remind me to tell you why they´re called Bettie Serveert, you wouldn´t tell!
